The following is the coverage details for the Sports Medicine Fellows:
Training Camp in last week of July to end of August. A fellow needs to be there everyday during the 2 day session, which runs for the first 3-4 weeks of Camp. One fellow will then typically attend home games, and 4 of the 5 away games. Two fellows will attend each pre-season away game with Dr. Gill
Dr. Boland is the team physician for Harvard. Fellows rotating with Dr. Boland should accompany him to the field house for his training room hours at Dillon Field House.
Physicals in August, then 5 games on Friday nights in the fall. Covered by fellow on Gill rotation, typically with Dr. Gill (as long as there is no conflicting Red Sox home game)..
Red Sox training camp in Florida mid-February to end of March. Fellow usually covers one of the weeks, maybe more. No solo game coverage, but fellows are asked to participate in coverage with either Dr. Gill, Dr. Asnis, or Dr. Theodore on an interval basis.
Bruins game coverage will be part of the responsibilities of the fellow in the Asnis/Zarins rotation through April. Bruins physicals are done in mid-August.
Game coverage from March until October. One fellow responsible to cover each home game.
One fellow is assigned to Curry College. He/she is the physician for the football team, and covers those games alone as the primary doctor. Attendings are available as back-up for consultations or surgeries. The fellow will also cover Curry hockey games, and a couple of other events. This is a moonlighting arrangement, so the covering fellow is compensated for hockey games & other events directly by Curry.
Dr. Asnis is the Head Team Physician for Suffolk University. Fellows on rotation with Dr. Asnis may cover games or help with injuries.
Dr. Zarins is the doctor for BB&N. Fellows cover games/injuries during their rotation.
